150 Years of the Market: A Time Traveller’s Feast

Date: Sunday 14 April
Time: 12pm-4pm
TIckets: $303.06

Imagine travelling back in time to sample the flavours, sights and sounds from 150 years of Adelaide Central Market history. This is your chance.

The way the market's produce (and South Australian tastes) have changed over a century-and-a-half reveals intricate stories about the fabric of our community and its unique food culture. This adventurous four course long table lunch will be a feast for the senses. Some of South Australia's hottest chefs will serve up a menu inspired by the years 1869 (Karena Armstrong from the Salopian Inn), 1919 (Lachlan Colwill from Hentley Farm & Tony Hart from the Intercontinental), 1969 (Jordan Theodoros from Peel Street & Matteo Carboni of Casa Carboni) and 2019 (Eddie Ye from Yakitori Takumi & Brad Sappenberghs from Comida). They'll use ingredients created by the multigenerational producers whose families have been supplying the market for decades.

The Market is partnering with Seppeltsfield Barossa, Coopers and Bickford's - SA's oldest and most iconic beverages, to give guests an authentic back-in-time adventure.

This culinary odyssey is a once in a lifetime travel experience, not to be missed. Guests are encouraged to embrace the journey and dress inspired by their favourite era.
