Celebrate Bastille Day with us across two days in July! From authentic flavours and guided tours to live jazz, workshops and roving performers, the Market will come alive with the soul of French culture.

Carmen at the Market

State Opera South Australia will bring the spirit of French opera to the Market with a performance inspired by Bizet’s beloved Carmen (running from 17th – 24th October at our neighbour, Her Majesty’s Theatre).

Butter Churning Demo

Discover the art of traditional butter making in this interactive demo hosted by Normandie-born Valérie Henbest. At the end, you’ll sample the freshly churned butter on a tasty slice of baguette. A fun way to discover a classic French tradition!

Bastille Day After Dark

Join Valérie and the Smelly Cheese Co. team for a very unique Cheese After Dark that acknowledges the 100th year of Claude Monet’s passing with live music and a painter in residence, as well as cheese, oysters, caviar, wine and Champagne.

Cupcake Decorating

Little bakers will decorate their own French-inspired cupcakes with icing, sprinkles and sweet treats, before taking their creations home. A hands-on activity for budding gourmands.
