Back by popular demand, this highly anticipated event returns with street eats and seafood specials from traders, accompanied by a program of live music, roving entertainment, cooking demonstrations by iconic South Australian chefs, and the ever-popular Chilli Crab Shack.

For the little shoppers, kids can enjoy a free sea creatures art workshop by Little Picassos and free sea face painting on the Saturday morning.

Chilli Crab Shack

What is now a staple of Seafood + Sounds is Chilli Crab Shack. The team at Sprout will be serving up fresh bowls of Asian-Style Chilli Crab, featuring Spencer Gulf Blue Swimmer Crab cooked in a chilli tamarind sauce and served with egg noodles and Thai herbs using ingredients fresh from the Market.

For Seafood + Sounds only, Si Sea is bringing the flavours of the sea to life with a Seafood Pop-Up, sizzling Seafood BBQ and a wine tasting experience — alongside their signature flame grill and tapas dishes.

This demonstration will draw on the expertise of home cook Geoff Staples with the expert seafood tips from the team from Fair Seafood, showcasing seasonality, cooking techniques all through the lens of ethical fishing and sustainability.

As co-owner and chef, Karena has stretched her ideas and enthusiasm to develop a surprising, seasonal and ever-changing menu centered on Asian flavours and timeless techniques.

Duncan Welgemoed

Duncan Welgemoed is a South African-born chef based in Adelaide, known for his bold, fire-driven cooking and deeply personal approach to flavour. As the chef-owner of Africola and Africola Canteen, he’s earned multiple awards and a loyal following. His debut book Africola: Slow Food, Fast Words, Cult Chef became a bestseller and appeared in the hit series The Bear. He also featured on Netflix’s Somebody Feed Phil, offering a glimpse into Adelaide’s vibrant food culture. Duncan’s new book, Where There’s Fire (2024), continues his exploration of heritage, memory, and cooking over flames.

Hosting workshops for a global community of fermenters and using her relentless passion to develop relationships within every facet of the food industry, Mandy has channelled this zeal toward product and research development, consulting with game-changing brands on how best to support growers, producers and local hospitality, to create a truly seamless journey from paddock to plate.
