When work starts next door on the Central Market Arcade Redevelopment and Market expansion from June 2022, our Market will continue to trade as always.

Our network of over 70 passionate traders will be here every Market day throughout the neighbouring redevelopment project, continuing to serve up the best fresh produce and speciality favourites for customers.

The project, managed by the City of Adelaide and ICD Property, is inspired by our iconic architecture and above the ground level Market expansion, Market Square will feature rooftop terrace garden, childcare centre, hotel, apartments and offices. The Market expansion to the east, towards Victoria Square, will double the Market’s footprint between Gouger and Grote St.

Just like now, the expanded part of our Market will be all about specialty food and beverage, fresh food, artisan producers, uniquely SA offerings and the best shopping and eating experiences. More of what we already love about the Market!

During this time Adelaide Central Market will remain open and stay the Market you know and love (we’re not changing!).
