A community favourite since 1869, the Adelaide Central Market is making history again with a once-in-a generation development. Set to double in size as part of the $400 million Market Square development, the expansion will introduce a vibrant mix of new food, drink and specialty retail experiences – building on the rich culture, flavours and community that have made the Market one of Adelaide’s most loved destinations.
With construction underway and opening scheduled for late 2026, the expanded Market will feature traditional market-style stalls, food and beverage kiosks and larger dining and retail spaces facing Gouger and Grote Streets.
